Camera straps are like life-long companions for our DSLRs. Most of us are quite happy to just settle for the free camera-branded straps they threw along with the package. While these straps may be a good start for newbies, for some of us more experienced ones, what we may not realise is that these straps may be our limitations to getting that one best shot.

Recently we came across 3 photography enthusiasts; 3 young Asian-American who made a huge difference with their brilliant innovation in the imaging world. The CustomSLR were purely funded by the public through a website known as KickStarter. It all began with passion. With a little bit of flavour of effort and creativity, plus a whole bunch of believers, hence births the CustomSLR C-Loop – a simple yet fantastic solution for us photographers today.

C-Loop is truly a sweet, “why didn’t I think of that?” solution. We designed the C-Loop in response to how the traditional top mounted camera strap always gets in the way. By relocating the mounting position to the bottom of the camera and integrating a swivel, we discovered numerous benefits that improved the shooting experience when using a camera strap. The wonder of small things.

Having the CustomSLR C-Loop allows you to have much quicker access to your camera. And not to mention the flexibility. It’s specially designed in such a way whereby it gives you smooth rotation for your camera without unnecessary tangles. Best of all, the C-Loop actually works with most camera straps you can find in the market.  Hence you need not necessarily purchase the CustomSLR Glide Strap (which I’m about to share with you about its awesomeness!) if you don’t want to. It’s made from aerospace-grade aluminium with really intricate details, very well thought out to best partner with you in your photographing works.

Because of its incredibly small size, it can fit not just onto your DSLR tripod mounts, but it is made also perfect for your mirrorless cameras, four-thirds, E-mounts Sony NEX and so on. So long as your gadget had a mount to fit the C-Loop, it can be easily screwed on and used.

Now what complements the CustomSLR C-Loop is known as the CustomSLR Glide Strap. And as the C-Loop, it is pretty unconventional for a camera strap. Custom-made not just for the men, but also the ladies. What defines the Glide Strap is the connector; which allows you to easily pick, glide and snap. This connector has been tested and roughened out through a hammock test by having Anne, one of the founders to suntan on the hammock which is locked using the Glide Strap connector, playing her iPad.

They actually ran a couple of crazy tests for the C-Loop as well to ensure photographers that they know what they are doing and how much they believe in their innovation. Here are some images of their execution:
